How it works

1. Drop in any JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF — a screenshot, a photo from your phone, or a frame you saved from a video.
2. Type the top line and the bottom line. Either can be left empty if you only want text in one place.
3. Adjust the font size, the outline thickness and the text position if the default does not sit well on your image.
4. Download the result as a PNG, or as a JPG if you need a smaller file for messaging apps.

Good to know

About the font: the traditional meme look is Impact, with a black stroke around white letters so the words stay readable over both light and dark parts of the picture. Impact ships with Windows and macOS, so on a desktop you will get the real thing. On a phone the browser may not have it and will substitute the closest heavy sans-serif available — the meme still works, the letterforms are just slightly different. The outline is drawn by stroking the text several times at increasing widths rather than with a single thick stroke, because a single stroke leaves gaps at sharp corners in letters like A and W.
